Three Earthenware Holy Water Fonts From Saint-clément
Set of 3 Saint-Clément Faience Holy Water Fonts - Early 19th Century. These fonts are characteristic of Saint-Clément, featuring a wide bowl attached to the back panel along its entire width, a nipple-shaped bowl, molded at the top and bottom, and a smooth middle section without vertical fluting. The titulus is tilted towards Christ's left hand; for Lunéville fonts, it is tilted towards his right hand. See photos in the reference book. Polychrome faience, both high and low fire. All three are restored. No. 1: Low-fire holy water font. Basin broken into 6 pieces, reattached, and a chip on the top of the cross. No. 2: High-fire holy water font with a blue and yellow rim.
