"Faience Font from Islettes" Polychrome high-fire faience font from Islettes. Late 18th - early 19th century. Characteristic shape with a painted backsplash with a peripheral border, painted cross, large, wide, semi-spherical basin without a gadrooned nipple. Perizonium tied on the side... Its originality lies in its abundant hair and its sponge-painted cup in green and yellow. See photo of the reference book (image top left). This object is part of the iconographic images in this book, the former owner was partly the editor. Polychromy in perfect condition. Note some microscopic enamel chips on the edge of the cup. No cracks, no repairs.
