Paul Hannong Sauce Boat - 18th Century. Footed sauce boat in earthenware by Paul Hannong, Strasbourg, dating from 1754 to 1762 (reference from the French expert on Strasbourg faience). The sauce boat is signed on the base in blue (see photo in Jacques Bastian's book, "Strasbourg Faiences and Porcelain 1721-1784," Volume 2, page 247). Interlaced handles. Polychrome low-fire glaze. Decorated with branching and solitary flowers. The sauce boat has been repaired only at the two spouts. There is also a circular crack on the base and a small crack on the foot. Numerous small chips on the handles (glaze losses) and a small chip on the foot. Length 22 cm, total width 19 cm, total height 8.5 cm
