Clock Mercury Gilded Bronze 1850
A very fine Louis-Philippe period clock, circa 1850, of excellent
workmanship. Gilded bronze construction with mercury and gold. A scene
from everyday life depicts a gentleman leaning on a writing desk,
equipped with a bookcase and an inkwell with a quill. The finely
decorated relief front houses the white enamel dial.
Original mechanism without modification, striking the hours and half-hours on an antique bell.
