Around a central subject showing the Resurrection of Christ, 12 miniature icons represent the major feasts of Christianity including the Nativity, the Trinity, the Birth of the Virgin, the Annunciation and the Baptism of Christ.
This icon is delicately painted on gold with tempera (paint based on egg yolk and natural pigments) on a wooden panel. The palette is rich and warm and the background of the composition is entirely gilded -- symbol of divine light. Fine calligraphy
