The Abandoned Farm

After the harvest, bundles of straw in front of an abandoned farm, beautiful ochre tones and low light on this inspiring landscape, calm and serenity signed Albert Drachkovitch -Thomas, tempera technique used for this work with a rendering worthy of the greatest miniatures. This work has a pendant and can be sold in pairs with lot no. Beautiful 17th century Dutch style frame, dimensions with frame 42.5 x 25.5 cm. Albert Drachkovitch is a French painter born in 1928 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, he has lived in France since 1939. After studying at the Beaux-Arts and Decorative Arts in Paris, he worked for a restorer. There he discovered tempera painting while working as a restorer of works of art and adopted this method to create works of great finesse in a realism with an inimitable style. Snowy villages, landscapes in ochre tones, low light, inspire calm, serenity and gentleness. He signs his name followed by Thomas in homage to his maternal grandmother Madame Albert Thomas to whom he owes precious help for his first exhibitions.
