Oil on canvas of a bouquet of roses by Alexis Kreyder. The bouquet is placed on the ground, it is composed of several red roses and a single pale rose. Signed work. Alexis Kreyder is an Alsatian painter born in Andlau on October 21, 1839 and died on March 18, 1912. He was a student of Laville in Strasbourg and of Fuchs and Zippelius in Mulhouse, then of Theodore Rousseau in Paris. Numerous participations in the Paris Salon from 1863, Universal Exhibition of 1189 (Silver Medal) and 1900, Salon of Friends of the Arts of Strasbourg and Mulhouse. Specialist in flowers. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1896. His works are preserved at the Mulhouse Museum of Fine Arts and at the MISE Museum of Fabric Printing in Mulhouse, Strasbourg Museum of Fine Arts, Colmar Unterlinden Museum.
