Jacques Bille, born in Paris on February 13, 1880 and died in Boulogne-Billancourt on June 8, 1942, was a French painter renowned for his depictions of composed bouquets. Passionate about horticulture, the scientific study of flowers enabled him to acquire a finer understanding of them, and to create and represent highly accomplished floral compositions.
Bille was an officier d'Academie, a member of the jury of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts section Horticulture and exhibited at the Royal Academy of England and the Royal Society of Belgium.
He actively participated in numerous exhibitions and attended various associations. In France, he exhibited at the Salon from 1914 to 1939 (where he received an honorable mention in 1922), as well as at the Galerie Georges Petit Paris in 1929, in Lyon, Saint-Dié, Le Havre, Roubaix, Lille and Liège.
Some of his works are held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Musée de Toulouse.
