Dimensions with mat: 41 cm x 33 cm. Eugène Galien-Laloue was a French painter born on December 11, 1854, in Paris and died on April 18, 1941, in Chérence. Initially trained in painting alongside his father, the artist Charles Laloue, he later joined the Salon des Artistes Français in 1877. He was a student of Léon Germain Pelouse, a member of the Barbizon School. He signed his works under various pseudonyms, among which "Galiani" and "Lievin" are some of the most famous. He achieved success during his lifetime, particularly for his Parisian scenes, highlighting certain details with vibrant touches of color. Several of his works are on display at the Musée Carnavalet in Paris and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Reims.
