Oil on canvas, signed Van Wyk lower left, depicting a farmer's wife milking her cow, surrounded by a cow, calf, and sheep, watched by a donkey at the gate. Donkeys are very rare in paintings, which makes this scene particularly charming! The canvas is in good condition after some restoration and relining. Henry Van Wyk was born in Amsterdam in 1833 and died in 1889. He belonged to the Dutch school. The Soissons Museum holds one of his paintings. Delivery or shipping is possible; please contact us.
