Antoine Calbet (1860-1942) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator trained at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of Alexandre Cabanel. He exhibited at the Salon from 1881 and received medals in 1891, 1892, and 1893. He won a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition for his work in the Colonial Pavilion. Calbet received numerous official commissions and created several panels for the decoration of the Train Bleu restaurant at the Gare de Lyon. Her art focuses on portraiture and female subjects, often highlighting beauty through gallant scenes. Her works are featured in numerous private collections and in the collections of the Parisian museums Musée d'Orsay and the Petit Palais.
