Camille Alfred Pabst, born in 1828 in Heiteren in Alsace, is a French painter known for his landscapes and genre scenes, particularly those around the traditions of daily life in Alsace. Pabst studied law and became a lawyer in Strasbourg, he decided to abandon the bar in order to pursue a career as an artist, was trained by André Charles Comte and exhibited at the Salon from 1868. He developed a style influenced by realism and impressionism, focusing on light and nature. Pabst participated in numerous exhibitions, notably at the Paris Salon, where he gained notoriety. His works reflect a particular sensitivity with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in interior scenes. Pabst died in 1898, leaving an artistic legacy that continues to inspire.
