Charm and traditional costumes for this important oil on canvas signed Camille Alfred Pabst. Camille Alfred Pabst, born in 1828 in Heiteren in Alsace, is a French painter known for his landscapes and genre scenes, particularly those around the traditions of daily life in Alsace. Pabst studied law and became a lawyer in Strasbourg, he decided to abandon the bar in order to pursue a career as an artist, was trained by André Charles Comte and exhibited at the Salon from 1868. He developed a style influenced by realism and impressionism, focusing on light and nature. Pabst participated in numerous exhibitions, notably at the Paris Salon, where he gained notoriety. His works reflect a particular sensitivity with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in interior scenes. Pabst died in 1898, leaving an artistic legacy that continues to inspire. His works are present in several museums, notably: Museum of Fine Arts of Mulhouse Museum of Fine Arts of Strasbourg Unterlinden Museum Colmar.
