Oil on canvas depicting a landscape of the island of Capri. In the foreground are two pine trees rooted in warm-colored soil, overlooking the sea, distinguished by its deep blue. Authentic work, from the artist's estate acquired from her descendants and certified by Many Benner's granddaughter, stamp on the back. Canvas dimensions: Length 41.6 cm. Width 34 cm Dimensions with frame: Length 47.2 cm. Width: 39.5 cm American box frame. Benner Emmanuel-Michel, (1873-1965) known as Many, so that he is not confused with his uncle Emmanuel Benner. He was born in Capri to an Italian mother named Pagano, an island from which he drew great inspiration for his paintings. Second Prix de Rome at the age of 21 in 1894, student of Jean Jacques Henner and Benjamin Constant and Lefebvre. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, the Musée des Beaux Arts in Paris, the Maison d'Art Alsacienne in Strasbourg, the Galerie Aktuarius, and the Société des Amis des Arts in Mulhouse. He represents the fourth generation of a dynasty of artists who have left their mark on fine arts in France and Alsace. He was named a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
