Khandjar Persian 19th
This Khandjar is a curved dagger typical of Persia. It dates from the beginning of the Qajar period, therefore from the first half of the 19th century. BLADE: It has a diamond-shaped section, with two edges. Length of the blade = 17 cm, width near the handle = 4 cm, thickness near the handle 5 mm
HILT : it has the capital letter "i" shape typical of Persian daggers. It is made of dark horn, with parts of copper, bone, brass, and silver studding in the shape of stars.
On the front side, two brass plates bear worn religious inscriptions.
SCABBARD: It is made of wood covered in black leather with fluted patterns. It is possible that the leather is a later replacement.
