Contrary to what many authors have written, copying each other, this type of sickle knife was never meant to be thrown.
The object was collected before the First World War, around 1905, by a missionary.
BLADE : It is made of steel and is sickle-shaped, with a solid central reinforcement, demonstrating undeniable mastery of forging techniques. Both the convex and concave edges are sharp. It has a beautiful original dark patina.
GRIP : It is made of wood and has the cylindrical bulge at its base typical of Mangbetu weapons. The blade's tang passes through the handle and is folded over it.
A weapon of undeniable authenticity, antique, and in its original condition.
