Chest Pistol, Single Registration

This is a pistol called "chest" or "punch". It dates from the middle of the 19th century (around 1840-1850) and was used by travelers for close defense. The general condition is very good, and the mechanism works perfectly, this is far from being the case for these pistols, which are very often found in poor condition.
BARREL it has 8 facets and does not have sighting instruments since this weapon is intended for close defense.
Barrel length 6.7 cm, internal diameter approximately 12.7 mm which corresponds approximately to the caliber of 36 balls to the pound of the Ancien Régime (with a pound = 456 gr of lead, we made 36 balls, but the pound of Paris = 489 grs ...)
CHEST AND MECHANISM: the screwed chimney is present, in good condition. The lower part of the trunk, the internal face of the trigger guard and the hammer are marked with the same number of the weapon = 50 which is a very small number compared to the considerable quantity of weapons of this type that were manufactured. The hammer works perfectly and holds the 2 notches very clearly.
STOCK: it is original, in walnut, in good condition.
It is therefore a defense weapon, called "travel", in very good condition, at a modest price.
