This beautiful, comfortable and impeccable rug is in perfect condition circa 1970.
The wool used is of high quality and very soft, the colors are fresh and vivid.
Hamadan is a city located in western Iran, 300 km west of Tehran.
It is one of the oldest cities in the world and it is referred to as Ecbatana in the book of Esther of the Bible.
The city is the center of the carpet trade which is produced in the hundreds of towns and villages in the surrounding area.
The best of them are marketed under their own name, Nahavand, Malayer ....
They are easy to recognize thanks to their typical patterns and size.
