Beautiful gouache on rice paper depicting a couple of birds facing each other perched on a peach tree loaded with longevity peaches.

Very good quality this gouache certainly refers to marriage and loyalty; the two birds facing each other form a couple whose union and durability are symbolized by the peach tree which supports them placed one next to the other, both carried by the same branch loaded with peaches of longevity. The generous size of the beautiful fruits near each of them seems to indicate that they share the same great desire for longevity of their love.
Note that the frame is of course posterior (note that it has black scratches).
