Kakemono Fugen Bosatsu Buddha Heart Paint Asia Japan
kakemono or Buddhist hanging scroll made with painting on paper. It represents a set of Buddhist symbols, at its base it is the flowering lotus symbol of wisdom and the victory of the spirit over the senses, the symbol which rests on it a bonji (Hindu writing) "AN" which is linked to Fugen Bosatsu, then comes two kanji 荅提 which is an offering on water and after it ends with a Hoju which is a jewel of fulfilled wishes (it brings the clear understanding of the dharma of Buddhist laws). Fugen Bosatsu is a bodhisattva of dharma practice, he is often depicted on an elephant. This kakemono is an allegory towards Buddhist transcendence via practice.
