Saint Ambrose in polychrome wood, carved in the round, late eighteenth century.
The Saint is represented at his work table, seated on an elegant armchair. He is dressed in his episcopal clothes. At his feet there is a miter because he is the bishop of Milan.
Saint Ambrose has a bearded face with a powerful and pensive gaze. Her long, wavy hair falls down to her back.
Several inscriptions can be guessed on the base.
This statuary group presents many details in the furniture and attributes of the saint.
