Pair Of Empire Mahogany Armchairs From The Early 19th Century
Very good quality of execution for this pair of Empire armchairs in blond mahogany from the early 19th century.
The armrest consoles are finely sculpted with a dolphin's head whose tail rises elegantly to outline the butt of the armchair. They are joined to the base by connecting strips decorated with a stylized palmette.
A stylized fleur-de-lys sculpture connects the armrests to the backrest uprights. These are inclined for better seating comfort.
The rear feet are sabre-shaped, but we will particularly note the rarity of the front feet made of a lion's shank with claws.
