18th Century Walnut Desk-table

Elegant Louis XV period blond walnut Lyon desk-table.
It rests on a curved base topped with carved shells and ending with pretty "crow's feet" topped with acanthus leaves.
The front and back crosspieces are also finely carved with shells and arabesques on a punched background.
The rectangular top receives "ears" at the four corners. It is surrounded by a generous molding and receives a Havana morocco highlighted with a gilded border with small irons.
This writing table opens on the front with a large drawer molded with a corbin's beak.
The nervous flexibility of the base, the balance and dynamism of the lines, the quality of the ornamental sculpture testify to the elegance of the beautiful bourgeois furniture in Lyon during the 18th century.
