18th Century Chiffonnière Writing Table
A delightful chiffonnière table in
rosewood frieze with three drawers on the front.
The top drawer reveals a writing
surface, covered in black morocco leather accented with gilded
edging, as well as storage compartments.
This small living room piece rests on
four curved legs topped with gilt and openwork bronze clogs.
A removable fire screen at the back
allowed one to write with warm feet but protect one's face from the
heat of the hearth.
