Cavalry Bridge Leather Breeches - First Empire

Cavalry-style leather breeches—First Empire period.

Made of white calfskin in the "bridge" style. The buttons are made of wood covered with white calfskin and bone.
These breeches open at the front, which folds down (8 leather-covered buttons). The waistband fastens with 3 vertical bone buttons (2 large and 1 small).
At the waistband, four buttons in the front and two in the back are designed to attach the suspenders.
At the lower part of the waistband, there are two pockets measuring 13 cm wide and 18 cm deep (one on the right and one on the left). At the top left is an 8-cm gusseted pocket.
At the back of the waistband, there are two holes through which a lace passes to adjust the waist of the breeches. This system is complemented by two tightening “straps” fastened together by a button (missing).
The bottoms of each leg fasten with four buttons and are adjusted using a leather strap 3 cm wide by 16 cm long.

Toward the top on the inside of the waistband is a notation indicating the regiment to which these pants belonged, but the red stamp is difficult to read. It appears that the top line reads “SCHEY” or “SGHEY”—to be confirmed. The third line appears to be the regiment number, “No. 5 or 6.”

In good condition, though there are a few stains and a trace of moisture on the lower part of the left leg (stiff leather).

Please feel free to request additional photos if needed.  I apologize for the photos of the inside of the breeches, which are difficult to take clearly.
