Pair Of Louis XV-era Children's Armchairs, 18th Century
Pair of “dite à la reine” children’s armchairs in re-stained oak and beech, Louis XV period, 18th century. Flat, violin-shaped backrest carved with a stylized shell in the center. Sinuous armrests ending in whip-shaped consoles, with a dynamic, ribbed belt. They rest on four curved legs ending in snail-shaped scrolls. Originally relacquered, with a beautiful patina (some wear to the lacquer on one chair). This pair of children’s armchairs is upholstered with fragments of Aubusson tapestry, one from the 17th century and the other from the 18th century (some wear and restoration). 18th-century work from the Rhône Valley.
