Large 19th-century Regency-style Watch Case
Large Regency-style watch case made of red-stained tortoiseshell with brass trim, 19th century. The tortoiseshell case is adorned with dynamic scrollwork in gilded bronze, culminating in a gilded bronze finial topped by a cherub playing the lyre. Openwork gilt bronze door delicately engraved with Atlas holding the World against a solid mahogany background. Original mercury gilding in good condition, cleaned by our workshop (some wear). Original lock in working order with its key. (Sold without the clock)
