18th-century Monastery Dining Table Made Of Fir

Exceptional 18th-century monastery kitchen table made of fir

A rare and very beautiful monastery kitchen table made of solid fir, dating from the 18th century, remarkable for its generous dimensions, its authenticity, and its magnificent antique patina.

Measuring 2.60 meters in length, this large table possesses all the presence and nobility of traditional communal furniture. Its long tabletop, bearing beautiful signs of age, bears witness to a past life and lends the piece a warm, deeply authentic patina. The piece has been preserved in its original condition, without losing the endearing character that defines the charm of high-quality antique furniture.

The structure rests on five turned baluster legs, connected by a solid longitudinal brace and a crossbar, ensuring excellent stability. The architectural simplicity of this table, combined with the sturdiness of its base and the understated elegance of its forms, evokes the functional furniture of historic religious communities.

These large kitchen tables, designed for everyday use, are prized today for their authenticity and their particularly sought-after proportions. They fit naturally into an historic home, a large, characterful kitchen, a country estate, or a contemporary interior, to which they bring a sculptural presence and a true sense of character.

Our example captivates with its exceptional length, generous tabletop, and beautiful original patina. The fir, with its natural hues and irregularities, fully contributes to the rustic yet refined aesthetic of this piece.
