Eames Chair Customized By An Artist, Circa 2000
An Eames chair whose shell has undergone an artistic transformation: the original shell was modified and then completely covered with a new layer of clear resin.The design covers the backrest with a profusion of colorful, hand-drawn motifs superimposed on the shell’s dark surface. The entire piece was then recoated with resin, encasing the design beneath a thick, glossy finish and transforming the chair into a one-of-a-kind piece.This intervention reimagines an iconic model of 20th-century design, transforming it into an object that straddles the line between furniture and a work of art.
