Pine Bunk Beds, Les Adrets Residence, Les Arcs, Circa 1970
Pine bunk beds from the Les Adrets residence in the Les Arcs ski resort, in the French Alps. The structure is made entirely of pine and consists of four vertical posts supporting two stacked sleeping surfaces with slatted bed frames. The sides and the upper sleeping surface are edged with long horizontal crossbars. The various components are bolted together, allowing the structure to be assembled and disassembled. This simple, sturdy, and functional design meets the layout constraints of the resort’s apartments, where optimizing space was an essential element of the interior design project.Provenance: Les Adrets residence, Les Arcs.
