Pair Of Art Nouveau—jugendstil—armchairs, After Cugini Lanzani, Circa 1900
Rare and highly decorative pair of period Art Nouveau armchairs – Jugendstil, based on designs by Cugini Lanzani, dating from around 1900.
Crafted from light wood, these armchairs are distinguished by their tall, richly carved backs, topped by three large stylized flowers and framed by a remarkable openwork design featuring curved, plant-inspired lines typical of Art Nouveau.
The armrests, which are particularly original, also feature a sinuous and dynamic design that fully contributes to the Jugendstil aesthetic of the set.
The backrests, seats, and armrests are upholstered in polychrome tapestry featuring floral and plant motifs, in shades of green, beige, and brown.
The contrast between the light wood and the fabric colors gives this pair a particularly decorative presence.
Beautifully crafted and a rare design, appealing both to Art Nouveau collectors and for furnishing a distinctive interior.
