Pipe Cabinet—carved Wooden Collector's Piece—renaissance Style—19th Century
A beautiful and original wooden pipe cabinet, in the Renaissance style, dating from the late 19th century.
The front opens with two richly carved doors, adorned with architectural panels featuring figures in high relief, scrollwork, foliage, garlands of fruit, and Renaissance motifs.
The lower sections echo this decoration with medallions carved in relief.
The interior is entirely designed to house a large collection of pipes.
It features several levels of wooden racks with numerous slots of varying diameters, allowing for the storage and display of a large number of pipes.
The piece is beautifully crafted, with a particularly decorative front, while retaining its specific function as a collector’s cabinet for pipe smokers.
The lock is present along with its key.
A rare piece and particularly interesting for a pipe collector, though it could also be repurposed as a collector’s cabinet or a cabinet of curiosities.
