Walnut Drop-leaf Desk – Empire Period, 19th Century
An elegant straight-sided Empire-period secretary desk, dating from the first half of the 19th century, crafted from walnut with beautiful, symmetrical grain patterns.
The front, understated and architecturally designed, is framed by two engaged columns.
It opens with a large drop-down door in the upper section and three drawers in the lower section, each featuring metal keyholes.
The flap reveals a particularly interesting interior, consisting of a central niche, several small drawers, and storage compartments.
The drop-down panel provides a comfortable writing surface.
