Empire Period Secretary With Flap
Elegant Empire period secretary with flap
.Blonde walnut, original marble and antique trim
Sober, balanced and highly elegant, this charming Empire-period secretary with flap perfectly illustrates the refinement of French furniture from the first quarter of the 19th century. Made of walnut with magnificent flamed veining, it seduces with the quality of its wood, the purity of its lines and the nobility of its proportions.
The front is punctuated by two imposing scrolled columns that frame the piece with majesty, bringing that architectural character so sought after in Empire furniture. Their powerful design contrasts harmoniously with the softness of the weathered walnut, highlighting the superb veneers with their warm, deep shades.
The desk is topped with an elegantly curved column.
The secretary is topped by an elegant original marble top, whose presence underlines the precious character of the ensemble. It also retains its antique gilt-bronze trim, original handles and functional lock accompanied by its cloverleaf key, a detail always appreciated by lovers of authentic furniture.
Once you've opened it, you'll be able to take your pick of the furniture.
Once the flap has been opened, the furniture returns to its original function: that of an elegant secretary for correspondence and storing precious papers. As is often the case with Empire furniture, usefulness is combined here with a rigorous, timeless aesthetic.
