Elegant solid walnut cylinder secretary, French work from the XIXᵉ century in the Empire style.
The upper part consists of a cylinder revealing a fitted interior comprising four small drawers and a central niche, resting on a retractable writing tablet. This type of interior arrangement was used to store mail and documents.
The lower part opens with three drawers in the front, fitted with brass handles and lock escutcheons.
The piece rests on turned legs forming columns in the front, typical of the Empire taste.
The set features a beautiful warm walnut patina and illustrates French production of the XIXᵉ century, combining sober elegance and functionality.
