An impressive and elegant period Napoleon III mirror, dating from the second half of the 19th century, featuring rich decoration in the Louis XVI style.
The wide frame in blackened wood is adorned with bands of gilding featuring scrollwork, foliage, and floral motifs, accented by fine moldings and a row of pearls.
The upper section is crowned by a remarkable carved and gilded pediment consisting of a wreath of flowers and foliage, and a quiver accompanied by intertwined attributes tied with a ribbon.
This particularly lavish decoration lends the piece a great deal of character.
The rectangular mirror with rounded upper corners is preserved in its original frame.
