Dal Torrione: Impressive Chimney – Atlanteans And Female Figures –

Artist: Dal Torrione
Dal Torrione: Impressive fireplace – Atlantean figures and female figures – Neo-Renaissance style

Spectacular richly sculpted plaster fireplace, currently covered with a bluish-white paint, featuring remarkable figurative decoration in the Renaissance style.

The two side panels are adorned with powerful full-length male Atlanteans, depicted supporting the upper part of the mantelpiece.

They rest on scroll-decorated corbels and feature particularly expressive carving.

The upper crosspiece, with its dynamic shape, features in the center a medallion carved with a reclining female figure, surrounded by volutes, shells, and foliage motifs.

The ends are decorated with female heads carved in high relief, completing this highly theatrical composition.

The ensemble is crowned by a mantelpiece molded to follow the contours of the facade.

On the side, one can see an intaglio stamp (dal torrione, a renowned artist), visible in the photographs.

A very beautiful decorative piece, ideal for creating or restoring a fireplace in a home with character.

  • Materials: His sculptures are generally made of reconstituted marble—that is, marble powder bound with resin (art casting)—and are usually signed and bear an edition number.
  • Market Value: His works appear regularly on the art market and at auctions, as well as in antique dealers’ shops (such as his famous depiction of Venus at Her Bath).
