Polychrome Wood Paneling Elements - Haute Epoque 16th / 17th Century - Fireplace
Probably elements of woodwork from the 16th or 17th century, perhaps the surround of a fireplace. The middle scenes represent in their centers God the Father who blesses the spectator with his right hand. The four panels surrounding it, represent the four evangelists with their attributes: - Saint Mark and the lion - Saint Luke and the bull - Saint John and the eagle - Saint Matthew and the man Polychrome carved wood, gilding made with 24 carat gold leaf, burnished (crushed) with agate stone on a red plate.
