A pair of crystal perfume bottles with sterling silver mounts by the renowned silversmith Mappin & Webb. Hallmarked with a lion passant, a leopard's head, and the letter U. In very good condition, the crystal stoppers are present, with no chips. The sterling silver lids are finely chased. Mappin & Webb is a jewelry company founded in 1775 by Jonathan Mappin in Sheffield, England. In 1862, his great-grandson John Mappin and his brother-in-law George Webb founded Mappin, Webb & Co. Today, it is an international company primarily producing luxury jewelry and tableware. The master craftsman of the Mappin & Webb jewelry workshops is the current Crown Jeweller of the United Kingdom.
