A significant glazed ceramic wall plate featuring a decoration entirely modeled in high relief depicting a lion subduing an ostrich in an exotic landscape of palm trees and lush vegetation.
The highly sculptural treatment of the decoration, combined with a polychromatic palette of nuanced glazes, gives this piece a remarkable sense of depth. The back is fitted with two mounting brackets for wall display.
