Bronze Sculpture “seascape.” Erwin Meijer. Netherlands. 2006

A monumental bronze sculpture titled “Seascape,” created in 2006 by the eminent Dutch sculptor Erwin Meijer (born in 1968), which exemplifies the artist’s artistic maturity.

The work features an expressive composition centered on a reclining female figure, rendered in synthetic plastic forms, where the monumentality of the form is combined with poetic symbolism and a philosophical dimension. The figure is modeled with remarkable sculptural freedom and a deep sense of inner harmony. The flowing lines of the silhouette, the refined modeling, and the carefully balanced proportions evoke a sense of calm and contemplation. The casting was carried out by the Art Casting foundry in Oudenaarde, Belgium.

The mastery of the casting process is evident in the faithful reproduction of the artist’s model, the fluidity of the transitions between the forms, and the quality of the patinated surface. The green patina highlights the sculptural relief and creates a striking contrast with the tall black stone pedestal.
