Russian Silver Cup With Plique-à-jour Enamel. Khlebnikov House. Moscow, Early 20th Century
An elegant silver cup with a fluted body, crafted using plique-à-jour enamel on filigree, representative of early 20th-century Moscow goldsmithing. The body is composed of petal-shaped segments separated by convex ribs, forming an architectural silhouette.
Each panel features a stylized floral design in shades of cobalt, emerald green, ruby red, and milky white. The translucent enamel produces an effect of internal light characteristic of the plique-à-jour technique. A fine twisted border accentuates the graphic structure of the composition. The piece rests on a low circular base that ensures stability and balance.
The piece illustrates the high level of craftsmanship of the Khlebnikov House, combining the tradition of the Russian Style with the aesthetics of Modernism.
