Gilded Bronze Bull's-eye Wall Clock, Louis XVI Style

A beautiful French wall clock known as an “ox-eye,” made in the late 19th century in the Louis XVI style. The circular gilded bronze case features rich relief decoration composed of roses, floral buds, and foliage arranged in a garland. It is topped by an elegant ribbon bow and a hanging ring. A delicate beaded frieze runs along the edge of the clock.
The white enamel dial is adorned with black Arabic numerals, red quarter-hour markers, and delicate blue and gold painted lines. It is complemented by a beautiful pair of openwork, gilded hands. The two openings in the dial allow for winding the movement and the striking mechanism.

In good overall condition. Original patina, slight wear on the gilding, minor traces of oxidation, and signs of use consistent with the object’s age. The dial shows a few slight signs of age, visible in the photos. The mechanism requires further inspection.
