Pair Of Large Art Nouveau Bronze Vases Signed E. Provost
An elegant pair of large Art Nouveau vases in patinated bronze, richly decorated with relief carvings. Each vase features a different design on each of its two sides: on one side, a young woman leans gently toward a butterfly perched on a branch; on the other, she reaches out toward foliage surrounded by flowers. The scenes are complemented by delicate plant branches that extend across the entire surface of the vases.
The slender bodies feature two handles and a flared neck with undulating lines. The delicacy of the modeling particularly highlights the female figures, butterflies, leaves, and flowers.
The vases rest on elegant, molded bases made of veined red marble. Each piece bears the signature “E. Provost” on the lower part of the body. H. 34 cm
