Paul Comoléra (1818–1897) – “wounded Partridge” – Patinated Bronze On A Green Marble Base

A bronze animal sculpture with a brown-green patina depicting a wounded partridge lying on the ground, its head tilted to one side and one wing raised high. This naturalistic piece was exhibited at the 1865 Salon and is notable for the delicacy of the plumage and the expressive intensity of the pose.

The pedestal bears a partially legible signature that most likely reads “P. Comoléra.” The sculpture rests on an oval base made of veined green marble. In good overall condition, with some signs of age visible in the photos.
