An Exceptional Pair Of Large Candelabra In Patinated And Gilded Bronze, From The Napoleon III Period

An exceptional pair of finely chiseled bronze candelabra with a brown patina and gilded highlights, made in France during the second half of the 19th century, during the Napoleon III era.
Each candelabrum is crowned by a majestic heron with outstretched wings. The arms of the candelabrum are arranged around a richly sculpted mascaron. The entire piece rests on an impressive tripod base adorned with lion heads and ending in powerful claws.
The quality of the cast bronze, the finesse of the chiseling, and the balance of the composition attest to the craftsmanship of the great Parisian art bronze houses of the second half of the 19th century, in the spirit of the works of Ferdinand Barbedienne and Georges Servant.
Beautiful original patina. A highly decorative piece with a commanding presence.
