"set Of 4 Still Lifes To Be Restored"

French School: “Set of 4 Still Lifes in Need of Restoration.”
- “The Plate of Apricots,” oil on canvas, 25 x 33 cm, thick yellow varnish, a mark on the side of the painting.
- “The Plate of Apricots,” oil on panel, 19 × 24 cm, thick,lumpy yellow varnish, two hanging holes at the top.
- “The Grape Cluster,” oil on paper, 19 × 26 cm, thick yellow varnish, unpainted thumbtack holes in the corners.
- “The Two Pears,” oil on paper, 26 × 19 cm, thick yellow varnish, unpainted thumbtack holes in the corners with a small loss in the upper right corner.
These last two are signed and dated on the back “A. Grosperrin 1939,” but the other two seem to me to be slightly earlier (1920?) and by a different artist.
A charming set that, once framed, will beautifully adorn an old kitchen.
