Perhaps intended as a centerpiece or fountain piece, this elegant sculpture, in which the young women seem to spring like dryads from their torsos, with its full-bodied female figures reminiscent of Rodin's watercolors, possesses an undeniable presence.
The artist was Despiau's teacher.
