Antique French Agate And Silver Seal – C.r. Monogram

A beautiful antique French seal with a large, skillfully faceted handle made of reddish-brown agate. Its natural hues range from honey yellow and orange to deep reddish-brown, giving the stone a different appearance depending on the viewing angle.

The richly decorated silver setting features finely crafted leaf and flower motifs. It bears a diamond-shaped French master’s mark, which is only partially engraved. Since the mark is incomplete, it is unfortunately not possible to identify the silversmith with certainty.

The silver die is engraved with an elegant monogram consisting of the intertwined initials C.R. A beautiful, decorative, and meticulously crafted French object, likely dating from the second half of the 19th century.

Height: 9.7 cm
Maximum width: 3.6 cm

Condition: good vintage condition, with normal signs of age and use. There are a few very small chips on the upper edge of the agate handle. The silver mount shows slight deformation or wear on one side. Please examine the photographs carefully; they are an integral part of the description.
