Louis XV style, consisting of five panels of molded walnut and adorned with its remarkable antique wallpaper featuring an exotic design.

Each panel features a dynamic upper section shaped like a gendarme’s cap. The side panels, joined by their original bronze hinges, have retained a beautiful, warm patina.

An interesting feature is that the five panels covered with wallpaper can slide vertically within their frames. The design, applied to canvas mounted on a stretcher, features a refined composition of flowers and birds in the “Indiennes” style, which was particularly popular in the 18th century.

Despite visible tears, wear, and gaps, this precious antique decoration retains its beautiful colors. It stands as a rare testament to the Enlightenment’s fascination with exotic and naturalistic motifs.

The folding screen is fully functional. Its unusual proportions allow it to discreetly divide a space, enclose an alcove, or conceal part of a room, while also serving as a remarkable decorative element.
