Pair Of Porcelain Figures From Volkstedt—putti Harvesting Grapes, Circa 1900–1930

A pair of white porcelain figures from Volkstedt, depicting two winged putti in harvest scenes. One holds a basket above his head, while the other carries a large basket on his back, filled to the brim with bunches of grapes.

The two figures are accompanied by woven baskets, branches, foliage, and grape-harvest motifs, resting on richly carved oval bases decorated with a molded ovule frieze. The sculpture is executed with great attention to modeling, particularly in the rendering of the faces, hair, wings, and various accessories.

White porcelain with finely modeled relief, without polychrome decoration, lending the piece a particularly sculptural elegance.

In good overall condition. Note: on one of the figures, the handle of the basket is incomplete; on the other, on the other a small branch is broken.

Blue underglaze mark on the reverse, indicating production in Volkstedt (Germany), circa 1900–1930.
